 Ruth Ann Santory, 63, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019. She was born September 28, 1955 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Warner and Sharma (Railingshafer) Talavinia. She was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and cantatas. Ruth Ann was a graduate of Indiana University of PA and California University of PA where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Masters degree in Reading, respectively. She was a retired 6th grade Math Teacher at the Elizabeth Forward Middle School and was beloved by many students and their families.  "Ruthie" loved children and was dedicated to growing their minds academically, and their faith through leading Vacation Bible School and youth group at church.

Not only did she love children, she cherished her dogs and others pets, which were many. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandma, sister, and friend.  Lastly, Ruthie had a generous heart for missions (e.g., Heifer International) and service to others. She is survived by her husband, James A. Santory, sons, Christopher (Ashley Fennell) Santory of Penn Hills, and Joshua (Sue) Santory of Hempfield, sister, Tracy (Mark) Pasek of Level Green, grandchildren, Alyson, Ryder and Alaina, and nieces and nephews, and Barney and Max, her two dogs and Chuck the cat.  Friends are welcome Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. 412) 751-5000 Drew J.
