Ruth Elizabeth Johnson, 95, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at home. She was born September 29, 1924 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth Murman Swainson. She was the wife of 50 years to the late Norman C. Johnson, Sr., who passed away July 30, 2002. She was a member of The Evangelical Congregation Church in McKeesport where she was a member of the Faith Class for 50 years and taught Sunday school for 30 years.

She is survived by daughters, Janine (Richard "Dick") Dalton of Elizabeth Twp., Carlene (George) Macik of Greensburg, and Gaylene (Robert "Kip") Copeland of Greenock, sons, Charles Johnson and Norman Johnson, Jr. both of Elizabeth Twp., grandchildren, Gary (Tammy) Popham, Jodi (Ray) Glesk, Jamie Smith, Nicholas (Amanda) Dalton, Brandon Copeland, Joshua (Erika) Copeland, Erin Cox and Clinton (Riley) Copeland, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother, Jack "Swanee" Swainson of Vowinckel, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Elinor, Blanche, and Grace, sister-in-law, Rosemary and her grandson, Jeff Cox. Friends are welcome on Friday, December 13, 2019,from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412)751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Gilbert Funeral Home at, 10:00 am with The Rev. Glen Irvin, officiating.
