LaVauda Jean Peterson, 89, of Elizabeth Township, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. She was born May 8, 1930 in Greenock and was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Edna R. (Eberts) Dick. She was the wife of the late Melvin Curtis Peterson who passed away August 31, 2014. LaVauda was a member of the First Methodist Church of McKeesport.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey A. Peterson of Elizabeth Township and Douglas R. Peterson of Oakton, VA, nieces, Sherrie (John) Lukacena of North Huntingdon, Sheila R. Woods of Greenock, and Sandra (Jon) Shank of Valencia, sister-in-law, Norma Peterson of York, and great-nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene "Peaches" Woods. She was preceded in death by her son, Dean . Peterson. Friends are welcome Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
