Jesse Carl Long, age 91, of Buena Vista, Elizabeth, PA, died on January 10, 2020, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. Born April 3, 1928, in Henderson, KY, he was the son of the late Radar and Eva Mae Long and the husband of the late Anna (Stoutamire) Long.

Jesse was retired from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a campus police officer for over 43 years. He served in the United States Army 187th Airborne during the Korean War from 1950-1952. He was wounded in action and received the (KSM) Korean Service Medal, (CIB) Combat Infantryman Badge, (BCS) Bronze Campaign Star, (USNM) United Nations Service Medal, and the (OCM) Army of Occupation Medal.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Arla R. Payne of McKeesport; sister, Roberta Storms of OH; brother, Joseph Long of NJ; grandchildren, Jesse III, Seren, a and Krystal Long, and Georquia Washington, ArTeeiz Stinson, and Travis Stinson; great-grandchildren, Ar'Moni, E'Moni, Ar'Iona, Jonah, Travis, Jr.; nieces, nephews, and cousins; also a host of friends that cared and loved him, including longtime friends. Jesse is preceded in death by his son, Jesse Long Jr., Sister, Peggy Hicks and Brothers, Radar and, Johnny Long.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from Noon until the time of service at 4 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Military honors will follow. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
