Mary Lou Skiffington, age 89, of McKeesport, died February 19, 2020, at home. Born November 18, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William J. Lundy and Alice Bickerton and the wife of the late Vincent A. "Pete" Skiffington, Sr.
Mary Lou worked in many places throughout her life, starting with Gimbels Department Store, then Hornes, and her latest work was at McKeesport Central Catholic, where she was a Kindergarten Classroom Assistant.
She was a member and Christian Mother at the former St. Pius V Church and a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Mary Lou was a lifelong member of the Turner's Club, where she was active in the Turn Sister's Club. She will always be remembered for her homemade bread and nut rolls.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Vincent A. "Skip" (Sharon) Skiffington, II of Ross Twp., and Kathleen V. (David) Bloser-Wire of West View; grandchildren, Kyle Bloser of Pittsburgh, Renee (Robert) Krebs of West Mifflin, and Brandi Skiffington of Bellevue; great-grandson, Austin Krebs; also nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Skiffington; sister, Alice Mae Maggs.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, February 21, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church on Saturday, 11:30 a.m. Committal prayers and burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
