Valerie Kearns, age 93, of Port Vue, died June 11, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born December 26, 1922, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Antonina (Nowak) Lawniczak and the wife of the late Thomas P. Kearns.

Val dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a member of St. Mark Parish, where she was active with the Ladies of Charity and volunteered for many church functions including the food bank. Val was a talented seamstress, who also enjoyed crafting, baking and gardening.
Val is survived by daughters, Kathy (Dan) Gilligan and Suann (Mike) Kozak all of Whitehall; grandchildren, Ryan (Missy), Devin (Larry), Ian, Justin (Emilee) and Josh (Amanda); great grandchildren, Conor, Owen, Aidan, Noah, Olivia, Chloe, Mia, Aldon and Theora; devoted sister-in-law, Doris Jean Kearns; nieces and nephews; dear friends, David Katko, Beverly Moranelli and Fr. Jerry Mikonis.
In addition to her parents and husband, Val was preceded in death by two sisters and many brothers.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 13, 2016, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, 11 a.m., at St. Mark Parish Port Vue Worship Site. Entombment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
