Dominic DeLeo of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Dominic DeLeo of North Huntingdon, PA, died peacefully surrounded by loved family members and friends on June 15, 2016. He is now an angel in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ watching over all of us. Dom has left a footprint in the hearts of all those he touched. Dom was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Tomanio DeLeo. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia; and his loving children Donna Lee Tamilia (Joe), John Lee (Janet), Darlene Leader (Bill), Diane Clem (Jeff), and his adoring grandchildren, Adam Tamilia, Alexa and Lindy Lee, Billy (fiancee Courtney) and Dominic Leader, Nathan and Joel Kremer, Rachel Law (Cody and Peyton), Madison Clem; sister, Marie Monheim; and countless living nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cosi DeLeo; sisters, Angeline Grguric, Amelia Lanning and Sylvia Long. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served on the Franklin D. Roosevelt for four years from 1948 through 1952. He was retired from Sears. The family would like to thank the caring and loving nurses, technical partners, and housekeeping aids at Westmoreland Hospital who were so compassionate and caring and made his stays there so comfortable. Special thanks to Breana, Derek and Gayle who were with him at the end. They would also like to thank all his doctors and nurses who gave him additional time to spend with his family. Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. Interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
