Carol A. Rost, age 78, of McKeesport, died April 19, 2020, at home. Born April 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Staley) Prettyman and the wife of the late Barry L. Rost.

Carol was retired from Peerless Wallpaper & Blinds, where she was the office manager. She was a US Army veteran. Carol was a member of the Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church of White Oak, where she served as a  Deacon and Treasurer. She enjoyed re-runs of The Golden Girls television show, puzzles, and her beloved cats. Her greatest joy was caring for her family.
Carol is survived by her children, Karen Lynn Grublis, of McKeesport, Debra Lynn (Benjamin) Diehl, of Irwin, Brian K. Savaro, of Fredricksburg, VA, Jeffrey A. (Jessica) Rost, of Pittsburgh, and Kristy Lynn Ambler, of McKeesport; 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Raymond, Alec, Chelsea, Josh, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jr., Christian, Ava, Connor, Juliana, Sylvia, Aaron, Bryan, and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Vanetta, Konstatine, Alex, Araylee, Bella, Denver, Nora, Theia, Raymond IV, Ava, Johnny, Danilynn, Eric, Lizabeth, and Jeffrey III.; brother, William (Patricia) Prettyman, of FL, sister, Alberta (Richard "Dick") Bailey, of FL, and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was also preceded in death by her step-father, Nicholas "Pete" Hankowicz; siblings, Ida Mae, Betty, Iris, Eugene, Gladys and John; grandson, Harry Belgrade, Jr.; great-grandson, Klayton Oliver "Klay" Savaro.
Private family arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be celebrated at Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church at a later date. Burial took place in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
