Mary E. Saxon, 89, of West Newton, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020. She was born November 10, 1930 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hodermarsky) Dougherty. She was the wife of the late Roy N. "Buzz" Saxon, Jr, who passed away April 1, 2004. Mary was a "Prayer Warrior" with a strong Christian faith.

She is survived by her sons, Roy N. (Alice) Saxon, III of White Oak, Dan Saxon of Florence, SC, Sean (Beth) Saxon of White Oak, Kenneth (Krystal) Saxon of Kennesaw, GA, and Paul D. (Monique) Saxon of Elizabeth Township, daughters, Mary E. (Jeff) Walos, and Sharon M. Saxon of Elizabeth Township, sister, Carol Joseph of North Huntingdon, daughter-in-law, Christine Saxon of McKeesport, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary and her late husband Roy also fostered 14 children. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Saxon, sister, Bernadette Garges and a brother, Richard Dougherty.
