Charles Young Powell, 72, son of the late Isaac and Rose Lee Powell, died June 1, 2020.

He was born on April 3, 1948, in Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Duquesne High School and worked as a Laborer for U.S. Steel.  

Charles, affectionately known as, “Charlie Boy,” was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was above all passionate and proud of his family. He loved to eat; he especially enjoyed his daughters cooking. Such an avid football fan, his favorite pastime was watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was recently preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Powell.

Charles is survived by his children Jeana (Kenneth) Bryant; Antwan (Tamika) Demery; Laverne and Rhonda Demery, Tevin, Ibn, Tre’von and Geena Powell; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Otis) Blue and Cheryl Collins; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 2326 Jenny Lind Street, McKeesport, PA 15132

Private Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
