Julie Elizabeth (Russen) Rocco passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020, and is now with our Lord and Savior. Mrs. Rocco, 63, was born in McKeesport Hospital on May 24, 1957. She was a lifelong member of the West Mifflin, PA community and also Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne.

She graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1975.  She obtained her degree in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979 and taught for 40 years at Saint Rita's, Clairton Central Catholic/Saint Clare of Assisi, and mostly recently Saint Agnes in West Mifflin.

She will forever be remembered as a loving Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Godmother, Aunt, and Friend to all that knew her and will be greatly treasured in everyone's hearts. Julie's life will be always be tied to her being one of the most influential educators to every student to whom she gave the gift of learning.

Julie is survived by her husband of 23 years, Michael John Rocco; 3 children, Matthew Jon Prestia, Lauren Elizabeth Prestia, and Joshua Michael Rocco; a sister, Bobbi (Larry) Wonders, a brother, James Russen, and many nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family members. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Julius "Bim" Russen and her mother, Mary (Lesko) Russen.

Relatives, friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate her life at William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, PA 15110, on Monday August 3, 2020 and Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The hours of visitation for both days will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. On Wednesday, August 5th 2020,  there will be a blessing service in the Memorial Home at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral Liturgy at 10:00 am in Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 701 Foster Avenue, Duquesne PA, 15110.

Please follow and comply with current CDC and Government regulations regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic. MASKS MUST BE WORN AND 25 PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT A TIME. SO PLEASE PAY YOUR RESPECTS IN A TIMELY MANNER TO ALLOW OTHERS THE SAME OPPORTUNITY.
