Archie Tortorice, 93, of Port Vue, PA, died Thursday, August 6, 2020 . He was born in Clairton, PA, on Monday, April 11th, 1927 and is the son of the late Joseph and Frances Tomediosky Tortorice. He is the husband of the late Marion "Merine" Tomediosky Tortorice. He worked as an Engineer for Union Railroad for over 40 years, a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years and was a sole-Proprietor for his heavy equipment business.

He was a long time member of St. Mark's Parish, served as the president and councilman for the borough of Port Vue, was a member of the American Legion Post #447, and was a member of the Sons of Italy in Glassport, Pa. Archie was all about family and supporting his community. He did several things in his life that made a major impact on others. He assisted in securing 19 acres of land to be donated to the borough of Port Vue and he donated all of his time and equipment so that the fields were up and running for the children in the community. He also was successful in getting the land donated for Archie's Way and McClure Road for the borough residents. He has worked on several other projects for the Port Vue fire hall, American Legion and the borough.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Archibald loved his family and would do anything to help and take care of them. He would help anybody that came in contact with him. He will be truly missed. He is survived by his children, Mark (Susy) Tortorice of Port Vue, Dean (Kathy) Tortorice of Delmont, Art (Paula) Tortorice of Elizabeth, Sandy (Dr. Rahat) Chaudhry of Monroeville, and Val Thomas of Port Vue, 14 grandchildren, 20 Great grandchildren, sisters; Thelma (the late James) Furcini of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Dolores Ferraro of Clairton.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Tortorice, and sister, Mary Lewis.

A family gathering was held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Eugene Church in Liberty Boro. Burial followed.
