Richard Brooks Smith IV, 61, of Port Vue, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 after a long bout with Colon Cancer. He was born May 23, 1959 in Barnsboro and was the son of the late Richard Brooks and Bella (Davis) Smith, III.

Richard began working for UMWA 1609, then Brunswick and AMF as a Bowling Mechanic for 15 years followed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Unemployment office as an interviewer and then as a clerk, retiring in 2019. Richard was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea, Georgia and Alaska.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Goffus) Smith, sons, Richard Brooks Smith, V., and Dave Smith of Greenville, SC. daughter, Heather Karalagas of Forward Township, brothers, John (Bobbi) Smith and Jim (Sue) Smith of Indiana, grandchildren, Aiden Kane and William Andrew Rodriguez, Landen Mathew Medved, Paul Richard, Leticia Marie and Bella Lee Smith, and Zander Apollo and Xavier Gene Karalagas, brother-in-laws, Art (Elishia) Goffus of McKeesport and Doug Goffus of White Oak, and nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his Guinea Pigs which he loved and called Pig Pie, and his 2 lovable dogs, Chuck and Willow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy (Senko) Smith. There is no visitation. Service with Military Honors and inurnment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies Columbarium will take place at a later date.
