Mary Ellen Cylenica, age 94 of South Park and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 in Mt. Vernon of South Park.  Born August 14, 1921 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (Canavin) King.

Mary Ellen worked as a billing clerk for GC Murphy Co. in McKeesport and also worked at US Steel's Christy Park Works during World War II.  She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish and its Women's Guild, and was also a member of the Clairton Hill Chapter of the AARP.  Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Cylenica, who passed away in 1989, and her sisters: Eileen Ward, Jean King, and Rose Marie Sherer.  She is survived by her children Mary Louise (Angelo) Gasparini of East Meadow, NY, Patricia Ann Cylenica of Bradenton, FL, Jack (Denise) Cylenica of West Mifflin, David (Nancy) Cylenica of The Villages, FL, Thomas E. (Julie) Cylenica, Jr. of Sharon, and Paul M. (Irene) Cylenica of Bedford Hills, NY; her ten grandchildren; her thirteen great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 1 PM to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Church with burial to follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
