Harry J. Schmidt, age 68, of Christy Park, died September 10, 2020, at Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. Born January 22, 1952, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Mary (Stinson) Schmidt.
Harry was a retired master gunsmith. He was US Air Force veteran serving during Vietnam Veteran War. Harry loved fishing, hunting, and shooting pool.

He is survived by daughters, Mary Beth (Jamie) Kwiecinski, of Virginia, Amy (Rick) Kapsha, of Munhall, and Melissa (Michael) Mehaffey, of West Mifflin; the mother of his children, Cheryl (Svercek) Schmidt; significant other, Cathy Callahan, of McKeesport, and her children, Casey and Michael and grandson, Brendon; grandchildren, Colton, Kaelin, Ailena, Karina, Jack, Austin and Layla on the way; brother, Thomas Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church. Military honors and inurnment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
