Robert "Bobby" Lee Jones III, age 34, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at UPMC Shadyside, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 2, 1986, to Bob Jones and Dana Grist. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Lenny and Linda Riccelli, who preceded him in death.
Bobby was a great father and thought lovingly of his son William Michael Jones, his best friend.
From the time he could walk, he had a baseball in his hand. He was an awesome pitcher, and no one could beat him at shortstop. Baseball was his greatest passion, and he was so proud to coach his son later in life, the way Lenny coached him. Bobby also loved to fish. You would often find him in the summer on the river with a rod in his hand and a "fish on."
His kind, caring, humble, and humorous personality was infectious to all who knew him. He had a sense of humor like no other. If you had the chance to meet him, there is no doubt that he made you laugh.
He is loved and survived by his son and best friend, William Michael Jones; William's mother, Robyn Harrison; siblings, Leigh (Richard), Mikey (Chelsea), and Mandy; "brother from another mother," Robert, "Bobby Michael"; aunts, Christine, Jennifer, Brenda, Robin, Susie; uncles, Bryan, Mike, Jon, Jack; cousin, Betheny; nephews, Elijah, Weston, Niko, and Leo; nieces, Marlaina, Cadence and Kinsley; extended family, Mary, Lynsey, Dawn and Dino; as well as many friends and family who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Linda and Germaine; grandfathers, Peter "Pappy Pete" and Lenny, and his uncle Mike.
Family and friends may be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m.
