Joseph G. Stipanovic, age 86, of Liberty Borough, died October 28, 2020, at Arden Courts of Monroeville.  Born February 12, 1934, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Stipanovic and the husband of the late Phyllis Smith Stipanovic.

Joseph was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He retired as a Senior Engineer at Westinghouse Transportation Center, worked at Gulf Research & Development Company, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and Westinghouse Air Brake Company.  He had a Professional Engineer's license with the State of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Stipanovic was a member of St. Mark Church in Liberty and the former Port Vue Borough site where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and member of the choir.  He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at UPMC McKeesport Hospital, working out of their Pastoral Office.  He is survived by a daughter, Judy (Dave) Kunes; sons, Tim (Dawn) Stipanovic, Paul (Rosa) Stipanovic, Ray (Amy) Stipanovic, and Joe (Shirley) Stipanovic; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 1-6 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2020, at St. Eugene Church at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles.  The family would like to thank Pattie Henderson of the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer Disease Research Center, Ella, and the staff of Arden Courts in Monroeville and Amy and Sam with Heartland Hospice for the loving care of their father.  The family has suggested memorial contributions to the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer Disease Research Center at UPMC Montefiore Suite 421 West, 3459 Fifth Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15213.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com  Chris Odasso, Owner.
