Beverly Ann Brownfield
Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 30, 2020
Beverly Ann Brownfield, 65, was born on October 6, 1955. She was the beloved daughter of Janice (Smith) Brownfield and the late Meredith Brownfield. Beverly departed this life suddenly, on October 22, 2020 at UPMC McKeesport. She was preceded in death by her father, and her sister, Merredith “Rita” Brownfield.
Beverly was born in McKeesport and was the first grandchild on both sides of her large and loving family. She joined her family in becoming a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at a young age and was baptized.
Beverly attended McKeesport Senior High School and worked for some time at the McKeesport OIC. She was also a childcare provider for many years. For decades Beverly proudly worked at one of the McKeesport polling locations during every primary and general election season, and always enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow poll workers.
But most importantly, Beverly was the main caregiver for her loving mother until the day she passed away.
Although she never gave birth, Beverly was an adoring and indulgent aunt and “play mother”. She loved children throughout her life and provided childcare for and helped raise the children of many family members and dear friends.
Known for her delicious fried chicken, potato salad, and pound cake, Beverly was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals that made others happy. During her life, she developed many affectionate and caring friendships, both lifelong and more recent. She was fun-loving, and with her great sense of humor and quick wit, could make the toughest person split their sides with laughter. And though she never obtained her license, she was a great passenger-seat driver.
Beverly loved her hometown teams and was passionate about sports. She was a Steelers super fan, enjoyed Pitt Panthers games, and rooted for the McKeesport Tigers as well.
Generous to a fault and with a heart of gold, Beverly would give you her last if she believed you needed it. She was a blessing to her family and many who knew her and will be forever missed.
Beverly is survived by her loving mother, Janice Brownfield, three sisters, Pamela Brownfield of Wheaton, MD, Kimberly Brownfield Perkins of McKeesport, Terri Williams (Kenneth Huston) of Monroeville, PA; two brothers Tyrone Brownfield of McKeesport, Meredith Williams (Roxanna) of Stafford, VA; three nephews, Terrance Brownfield, Anton Perkins Jr. and Terrance Jr.; niece Briauna Brownfield; Sister-friend Kim Crane; her goddaughter Chelsea Robinson, and many more nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, great aunts, cousins and friends.
FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE PRIVATE.
Arrangements were in charge of Robert A. Waters Funeral Home.
