Bernice donated much of her life to helping others. She was an active member, deacon and part of the womens' circle at her church. She chaired the quilters circle and had an amazing talent with a needle and thread. Everything she touched turned into a work of art including her Quilts, one of which was published in the Miniature Baltimore Album Quilts Book by Jenifer Buechel. Bernice had done alterations on thousands of gowns that were nothing short of perfection. She designed beautiful gowns for her daughters' proms and weddings. Bernice was the judge of elections for several years and believed that the privilege to vote was of the utmost importance. Bernice had an ability to make anyone she spoke with feel loved and she cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was, compassionate, strong, and beautiful. Her family and friends who knew her loved her deeply and grieve her loss but know she is at peace. The family suggests contributions to McKeesport Presbyterian Church, 1510 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132.
