Gilbert E. Kubancsek, 86, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Walden's View, North Huntingdon.  He was born May 3, 1934 in Homestead, a son of the late Gilbert G. and Mary (Ferer) Kubancsek.

Prior to his retirement, Gilbert was project manager for Westinghouse and a veteran of the US Army.  He was a member of St. Agnes Parish and enjoyed reading, researching his genealogy, fixing things and spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Kubancsek; brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Kubancsek; sisters, Irene Vargo and Violet Mae Evanov.

He is survived by his son, Gary M. Kubancsek and his wife, Holly; daughter, Susan Stone and her husband, Jeff; five grandchildren, Michael (Aubrey), JJ and Kara Lynn Kubancsek, Megan and Ashley Stone; sisters, Eleanor Verna and Lillian Krescanko.  Friends will be received on Thursday 9-10:30 a.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Church.  Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
