Helen Balawajder, age 98, of McKeesport, passed away on December 15, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. Born May 22, 1922, in Trafford, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Zigarovicz) Drost and the wife of the late Thaddeus Balawajder.

Helen graduated from Trafford High School and was a member of the Mary Mother of God Christian Mothers and Rosary Society.
She is survived by children, Janet (Robert) Yonek, of McCandless and Ronald (Debbie) Balawajder, of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Robert (Brittany) Balawajder and Patrick (Rikki) Balawajder, of Pataskala, OH and Carrie (Joshua) Vandenberg, of Westerville, OH; great-grandchildren, Emma, Silas, Sunny Lane, Eliana, Maddux and Zoe; brother, Edward Drost, of Trafford; sister, Jane Mayers, of Trafford and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Drost.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory.
As per Helen's prior request and in consideration of Covid-19 concerns, the service and burial will be private with a memorial service to be planned for a later date for friends and relatives.
Interment will be in St. Mary Polish Cemetery.
