Robert Morgan Patrick Burke, son of Hiram Abner Burke and Mariam C. Jones Burke Carroll.
He was reared by grandparents Watkins Wilford Jones and Julia J Baker Jones from the age of 9 months until he was 18 years of age. From the age of 8 until he was 18 he and his grandfather were seen everywhere in town knocking on doors to see if the occupants had a piano to be tuned.
He graduated from McKeesport High School in the class of 1948. He worked at Fort Pitt Steel Casting Company in McKeesport from July 1948 until 1950. He worked briefly as a cashier at Central Drug Store before being hired at Fisher Body June 14, 1950.
He was in the Coast Guard 1950 to 1953. Married to Doris L Quantz Burke whom he married in 1953.
He remained at Fisher Body until he retired.
Survived by his daughters Celia M Quantz McCluan (Donald Reed), Marie C Takacs (John); Anne Burke-Evanoff (Jim), 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His life was filled with music – opera first, ballet second, and everything classical after that.
Burial will be private.
