Edward John Freinstein,  76, of North Huntingdon, passed away December 29, 2020. He was born November 28, 1944 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Edward Freinstein, Sr. and the late Ruth (Swigart) Freinstein. Beloved husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and friend, affectionately known to family members as Butch (Butchie). Ed grew up mostly in Penn Hills and graduated from Penn State University in 1967. He loved animals, especially dogs, and had a way with them. He loved to golf and was especially happy when the weather allowed him to get out on the course. He was also an avid Steelers Fan. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Butch was  retired from Westinghouse Bombardier.

 He is survived by his wife, Karen (Kundman) Vranesevic, son, Edward  (Lisa) Freinstein, III, of Charlotte, NC, daughters, Debbie (Kelly) Yates, of Indian Trails, NC, and Amy Thomas, of Rock Hill, SC, step-son, Weston (Deanna) Vranesevic of Canonsburg, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, dogs, Fearless and Snuggles, and grand-dog, Neko. There is no visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak.
