Dorothy Jean Hollis, 56 years old of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, transitioned from Earth July 13, 2016 in UPMC East.

She was born March 28, 1960 in Clarksville, MS, daughter of the late Louise Broomfield-Younger.

Dorothy loved to play Bingo and was lovingly known to all of her grandchildren as Nana.

She worked as a Field Researcher for University of Michigan.

Surviving are husband, Frank Daryl Hollis of Elizabeth, PA; daughter, JaCinta Sharees (Howard Simmons) Broomfield-Powell of Memphis, TN; son, Leslie Lamont Broomfield of Springfield, IL; three brothers, Charles Broomfield of Peoria, IL, Terry Seaton of Springfield, IL, Allen Broomfield of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Shundell Broomfield of Peoria, IL, Sharlette Broomfield of Peoria, IL, Rosemary Sanders of Batesville, MS; uncle, who was like a brother, Robert Jackson of Clarksville, MS ; five grandsons, Antoine Broomfield, Alyja Powell, Leslie Broomfield, II, Jayden Broomfield, Dentaevez Smith; three granddaughters, Jaleya Powell, Aniya Broomfield, Alyssa Powell; son-in-law, Alvin Powell, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by brother, Merle Jackson, step-father, Sheffield Younger and grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Jackson, who reared her.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at the at the Gethsemane Church of God In Christ, 200 Crest Street, Clairton, Pennsylvania, where services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Elder Melvin Brown, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, PA.

Local arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., Clairton, PA.
