Kenneth R. Lewellen, age 65, of West Mifflin, died February 5, 2021, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Born September 23, 1955, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor (Tatar) Lewellen and husband of the late Ruth Ann Lewellen. Ken graduated in 1973 from South Allegheny High School. He retired from Praxair with 44 years as an industrial gas technician and owned the Deli Hut in McKeesport for 15 years. As a classic car collector, you could find him working on his two 1965 Chevy Impalas. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
He is survived by children, Amy (James) Slack, of Penn Twp., Stacy (David) Cicco, of Penn Twp., and Ken (Kelley) Lewellen, of White Oak; grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Aidan, Evan, Brayden, Lilli, Giselle, River, and Landon; brother, David (Karen) Lewellen, of Pompton Plains, NJ; sisters, Eleanor (Dwight) Fait, of Glassport, Nancy (Chuck) Mihalko, of Elizabeth, and Constance Weber, of McKeesport; nephew, Jeff Weber with whom he was close and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Lewellen. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6 until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com. The family would like to thank Nurse Kelli from Vitas Hospice Care for all her help and support and to Ken's former wife, Darlene Hrubovcak, for taking such good care of Ken for the remaining six weeks of his life.
