David L. Cant, 75, of McKeesport, passed away, Sunday, February 7, 2021. He was born July 10, 1945 in Elizabeth Township and was the son of the late Robert John and Alice Mae (Ludwick) Cant. David was a US Army Veteran and worked for 37 years for Vista Metals. He was an avid hunter and golfer. He golfed with a league every week and enjoyed hunting in the Clarion County area. David and his wife Janet have a camp in Mountain Pines that they would visit every weekend and they also enjoyed visiting Deep Creek, MD. He was a hockey fan and loved attending his grandchildren's games.
He is survived by his wife of 5 years. Janet L. (Swindell) Sinnamond Cant, daughters, Melissa (Matt) Weeter of Dallas, TX, and Dionna Coobert of TN, sons, David L. (Laura) Cant, Jr. of Alabama and Danny (Karen) Cant of Florida, sisters, Margaret Ann Cant of Elizabeth Twp., and Lavinia Tempo of Luxor, step-son, Greg (Fiancée Kelli) Sinnamond of McMurray, step-daughters, Shannon (Mike) Lemley of Dawson and Kristi (Mike) Hochenconer of Greensburg, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, Guy (Carol) Cant of McKeesport and Jack (Chrissy) Cant of Elizabeth Twp., as well as other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Cant, Jr, Samuel Cant and James Cant and sister, Cathleen Angello. Friends are welcome Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11 am to 1 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 pm.
