Shirley Mae Burd, age 83, of Dravosburg, formerly of Port Vue, died February 10, 2021, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born July 26, 1937, in Boston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Max and Clara (Belles) Schlessinger and the wife of the late John Christia Burd.

Shirley was the co-owner, secretary, and treasurer of the former Schlessinger Trucking Co. She was also a recruiter for the Peer Group with 18 years of service. Shirley was a member and Deacon of the former Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with her family. Shirley was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post # 447 Women's Auxiliary, where she was past secretary and treasurer.

She is survived by her children, Sheree (John) Kapusta of Port Vue, William (Pam) Stevens of New Alexandria, Becky (Stephen) Reeder of Boise, ID, and Edward (Heather) Stevens of Latrobe; step-son, Harry "Corky" (Roseann) Stevens of White Oak; grandchildren, Carrie (Justin) Betters, John (Alicia) Kapusta, Casey Stevens, William (sonny) Stevens, Edward Stevens, Katelyn Stevens, Craig Stevens, Chelsea Stevens, Dylan Reeder, Grant Reeder, Brandon Stevens, and K. Leigh Stevens; great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacob Betters, Aiden and Cole Kapusta, and Edward Stevens III;  also many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her grandson, Cade Stevens; siblings, Viola "Bella" Grubb, James Verras, Anthony Verras, Edward Schlessinger, and David Schlessinger; step-mother, Glenna Schlessinger; 2 step-brothers; and 2 step-sisters.

Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, February 14, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will held on Monday, 11 a.m., in the Willig Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
