Dorothy A. Fehr, age 100, of Zelienople, formerly of McKeesport and White Oak, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community, where she had been a resident for many years.
Born July 13, 1920 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nancy Angeline Jones.
Dorothy married the late Harry Glenn Fehr on October 22, 1942, and shared 66 years of marriage until his passing on March 12, 2009.
She was the mother of David Fehr of Sequim, WA, Douglas (Susan) Fehr of Wexford, PA, and the late Dr. Elaine (Leonard) Waters of Bradenton, FL; the grandmother of Jason (Susan) Fehr, Eric (Amy) Fehr, Justin Fehr, David Waters, Dr. Jenni Waters and Dr. Amy Waters; and great-grandmother of Madison, Jackson, Ansley, Theo, and Stella Fehr, and Jonah and Braeden Waters.
Dorothy was a long-time member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in White Oak. She formerly volunteered with United Cerebral Palsy and Meals on Wheels. Dorothy was known to be very outgoing with a great sense of humor, and she quickly made friends wherever she lived. She loved playing cards, especially Bridge, and enjoyed all challenging games, and working on crossword puzzles.
The family would like to thank the staff at Passavant Retirement Community for the many years that they cared for Dorothy.
Dorothy’s family will receive friends on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 10 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12 P.M. at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063, with the Rev. Beverly J. Banyay, officiating. COVID-19 protocol requires facial coverings, social distancing and limiting physical contact.
Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Dorothy’s honor to White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (https://whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com/donations).
