Herman J. Breit, age 83, of North Versailles, died March 15, 2021, at Family Hospice Canterbury Place.  Born January 24, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George and Julia (Ganter) Breit.

Herman was the owner and operator of the former Breit Poultry Farm.  He was a member of St. Boniface Church, where he attended the Latin Mass.  In his early years, he enjoyed traveling and gardening.  He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who knew him.  Animals always held a special place in his heart, especially cats, and he relaxed by smoking good cherry tobacco from his favorite pipe.  
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Denise (Dennis) Verosky, of Pittsburgh, Laura (James) Rea, of Greensburg, Robert (Ginny) Green, of West Mifflin, Kenneth (Donna) Green, of Florida, George (Kathy) Breit, of Colorado, Michael (Nicole) Breit, of North Carolina, and Curtis (Lori) Breit, of Maryland and sister-in-law Juliette Breit, of Pleasant Hills.
He was preceded in death by siblings Rita Breit, Julia Green, William Breit, and Gerard Breit.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, March 20, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood of Jesus Roman Catholic Parish, 3250 California Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.  Burial will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.
