Joann B. Gajdzik, age 80, of McKeesport, died April 15, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born June 12, 1940, in Clairton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Spencer) Costa, and the loving wife of the late George P. Gajdzik, Sr., for 55 years.  You could always find Joann with a book reading a western romance novel.  Her sharp wit and intelligence would be on full display while watching Jeopardy with her family.  She always sounded off before anyone else with the answers.  Joann also enjoyed playing scrabble and pinochle.

She is survived by children, George Jr. (Lora) Gajdzik, Christine (Bryan Rosensteel) Sterner, and Melanie (Dave Burkhart) Elder; grandchildren, Shawn Gajdzik, Mathew Gajdzik, and Angelena Jarmon; brothers, Harry, John, Gabe, Richard, and Donald Costa; sister, Terry Costa, and son-in-law Joseph Jarmon.  She was also preceded in death by daughter Sherry Jarmon and sister Rita Cairns.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.  Chris Odasso, Supervisor
