Laura Adamek, age 95, of Elizabeth Twp., died June 17, 2021, at Canterbury Place. Born January 20, 1926, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine (Gliwa) Michalek and the wife of the late Edmund E. "Mickey" Adamek for 70 years.
Laura retired from AnswerPhone Answering Service. She was a member of Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir with her husband. Laura enjoyed ceramics, bowling, and dancing, in her early years. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and home.
She is survived by her children, Karyn Muse of West Homestead, Wendy (Eugene) Kreitz of Sinking Springs, PA, Leslie Adamek of North Versailles, and Alexa (Kevin) Foster of Sewickley; grandchildren, Melissa, Josh (Christine) Adamek, Jordan and Kearsten (James Force) Kreitz, Jared Ohls, Abbey and Jack Foster; great-grandchildren, Arthur Edmund, Sarah Jane Adamek, and Adam Kreitz; sisters, Helen Kielnar of McKeesport, and Cathi Glanz of VT; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was also preceded in death by her son Jon (Eileen) Adamek, son-in-law, Thomas "Tucker" Muse, siblings, Edward, Michalek, Robert Michalek, and Alice Rybar.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 21, 2021, 12 p.m., at the Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. Fr. Bruce Sleczkowski will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery.
