Gary Douglas Hobson, age 82, of Sewickley Twp., formerly of McKeesport, died July 21, 2021, at LGAR Health & Rehabilitation Center of Turtle Creek. Born October 21, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Harold and Blanche (Hannigan) Hobson and the husband of the late Donna ( Anchak ) Hobson.

Gary worked as a mechanic at many different places throughout his career until he lost his sight. He was an avid Steeler football fan. Gary loved his family and is now reunited with his wife that he truly missed so much.

Gary is survived by his children, Lorie (William) Sonni of Plumville, Scott Hobson, Jeff Hobson, Lisa (Richard) Griffiths, Lynda (William) Klingensmith all of McKeesport, and Sharil (John) Callahan of Sewickley Twp.; grandchildren, Kristy Hobson, Sara Griffiths, Emily Dornenburg, Hannah Klingensmith, Samantha Peters, Lauren Ryan, Rachel Hobson, and Collin Callahan; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alan Hobson of White Oak, and Harold (Bonnie) Hobson of White Oak; nieces and nephews; best friend and caregiver, Dorothy Hansen; caregivers, Kelly Yauch and Francie McCombs; beloved dogs, Copper, Geno (his bodyguard), and Roxy.

Family and friends will be received t Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 2 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.

Committal prayers and burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
