Vernon C. “Buzzie” Scott Jr., 63, of Penn Hills, died Friday August 5, 2016 at home. He was born January 23, 1953 in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Vernon C. Sr. and Audrey L. (Harkins) Scott and was also preceded in death by siblings David Scott and Cynthia Johnson. He is survived by loving sisters and brother Susan J. Scott of Larimer, Rachel Smith of Franklin, and Jeffrey Scott and Karen Scott both of Chambersburg; his aunt Susan Smith of North Huntingdon; also many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He loved animals, rescued pets and enjoyed fishing. Buzzie left an impression on everyone he met. He was a big-hearted guy that would do anything for anyone whether they knew him for five minutes or a lifetime. Buzzie's generosity of heart did not stop with humans. Throughout, his life Buzzie adopted shelter pets as well as volunteering at local rescue organizations. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will follow at 4 p.m.with Elder Glenn Meyers officiating.
