Kathy Marie Slosky, 76, of Pittsburgh, passed away with her son by her side on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was born June 16, 1945, in Bentleyville, PA and was the daughter of the late Albert August "Jack" and Anna (Frencik) Slosky. She graduated from Bentworth High School in 1963 and then attended Robert Morris Junior College, graduating in 1964. Kathy lived in Washington, D.C. and worked for GTE (later Verizon) for over 20 years. Upon returning to the Pittsburgh area, Kathy was a faithful and active member of First Lutheran Church. The First Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Pittsburgh was an important part of her life as well as the many wonderful people who made her feel very welcome and special. She always made a point of remembering what everyone’s favorite “thing” was and when invited to visit, she would walk in carrying that special thing you loved. 

Kathy is survived by her son, Kurt Heinselman of Norman, OK; dearest friends, Mary Ann Sevik, Nick Kefal, and their son, Alexander Kefal of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews, Kevin (Cathy) Slosky, of Peachtree City, GA, Arnold Dale (Stephanie) Slosky of Thornton, CO, and Ken Slosky, of Hermitage, PA; niece, Lisa (Bob) Hahner, of Finleyville, PA; grand nieces and nephews, Shawna Slosky, Ashley, Jordan, and Zane Hahner; and great-grand nephew, Brycen Kennedy. She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert “Jack” Slosky and Arnold Dale Slosky, step-sister, Wilhelmina and nephew, Nick Primorich. Per Kathy's wishes she will be cremated without viewing. A Memorial service will be held on a yet to be announced date at The First Lutheran Church, Pittsburgh, with Pastor Brian Evans officiatingIn lieu of flowers, it was Kathy's wish that any memorial contributions in her name be made to the First Lutheran Church Good Shepherd Fund, a fund designated for assistance to those in need, or to the church itself, First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or the Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main St, Bentleyville, PA 15314.  Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (412) 672-6322 Troy J.
