Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 02, 2021
Shirley Ann Mansfield, 87, of Port Vue, passed away on September 30, 2021, at Jefferson Regional Hospital. Born November 12, 1933, to Louis and Violet Kerfoot Bartles in Dravosburg, she was the loving and cherished wife of Kenneth Mansfield, married 70 years on June 2, 2021.
Shirley worked for Shemm Catering and volunteered for many years making nut rolls, serving dinners for the
United Methodist Church and helping with Meals on Wheels. And she enjoyed monthly card club dinners with her neighborhood “girls.” Always one with words, she loved writing and was published in Beyond the Sea, a book of poetry. But what gave her the most joy in life was her family and making memories that will be cherished forever. She took great pride in hosting every holiday dinner and family getaway weekends in the mountains. She always supported and cheered on her grandkids as they participated in their favorite activities such as football, dance, baseball, softball, and soccer. She also had a special place in her heart for each of the family’s pets.
She is survived by her husband Kenny; children, Frank and Marge Mansfield, Kenny and Amy Mansfield, Kathy and Ron Crosby and Sherry and Steve Starinsky; grandchildren, Joey Mansfield and Brian, Jason and Tiffani Crosby, Lindsey and Ross Trimmer, Jared and Kristen Mansfield, Ryan Starinsky and Meg, Bre and Carmen Testa, and Brent Mansfield and Kara; eight great-grandchildren, Rowan, Gabby, Alyvia, Ronin, JJ, Noah, Arabella, and Cade; loving sister and best friend, Marion Lippzer; sisters-in-law, Ruth Mansfield, June Kalkbrenner, Ruthie, and Bud Geissler; brother-in-law, Tom Riley and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Barb Riley; brothers-in-law, Floyd Lippzer, Don Kalkbrenner, and Frank Mansfield.
A collector of angel figurines, the world lost a beautiful soul but gained an angel to watch over us all.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
