Randy J. "Bodie" Abels, 60, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at home. He was born April 14, 1961 in McKeesport and was the son of Gladys (Panzek) Abels of Dravosburg and the late Ronald "Raz" Abels. Randy retired from US Steel Irvin Works. He was a volunteer at the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth Township where he loved to walk his buddy, Rocky. Randy loved to hunt and fish with his brother Moose as they and friends spent many hours in the outdoors. Randy was a loving father, husband and friend to everyone. His helping hand and tough love will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee (Ulakovic) Abels, son, Tyler James (Carly) Abels of Houston, TX, daughter, Samantha Leigh Abels at home, brother, Ronald "Moose" (Lynda) Abels, sisters, Debbi Scott, Renee Abels and Cindy (Bob) Thompson, sister-in-law, Faith "Bunny" Slampak, nieces and nephews, Raymond, James, Brandon, Christa, Ashley, Ryan, John, Michael, Danielle, Nancy, Mikki and Kaetlin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Noll, sister-in-law, Flo, brother-in-law, Don, niece, Jada, and nephew, Mark. Friends are welcome Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 2-6 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000, Drew J.
