Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | November 02, 2021

Dennis Charles Cooper, 74, originally of Port Vue, passed away at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC, on October 27, 2021. He is survived by his mother, Normagee Cooper, of Port Vue; former wife and still best friend, Mary Ellen Cooper, of North Huntingdon; loving daughters, Tracey Maiolo (Vince), of Level Green, Melissa Cooper (Hitesh Soneji), of San Francisco, Carolyn Cooper, of Key West, and Dyanne Carpenter (Erik), of Stafford; grandchildren, Kirin and Kai Soneji and Sophia and Rose Carpenter, who were the absolute lights of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Cooper, and sister, Sharon “Sissy” Cooper.

Dennis may have been a man of few words, but he was also a man of great love. Anyone who knew him also knew about his love and dedication for his family. He was immensely proud of his daughters - happier than anything to be a “girl dad” - and bragged about their accomplishments at any opportunity. He doted on his grandchildren and often told stories of their antics with a twinkle in his eye. He considered his former wife his best friend, travel companion, dinner date, and confidant. He was passionate about travel, cars, golf, his pool family, good food and wine, and of course, good bourbon.
Friends and family will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 2 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the DSI D.A.D.S. Golf Outing, which is an annual charity event in which Dennis participated yearly.
