Emma Marie Piplica,  95, of Liberty Boro, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was born March 14, 1926 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Powell) Petro. She was the wife of the late Nick Piplica who passed away on June 18, 2005. She was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish-St. Eugene Church in Liberty Boro. Emma's greatest joy was her family. She took time to make everyone near her feel special and loved. Her heart was so big. She enjoyed making rugs, playing bingo, gambling and shopping, especially at the thrift stores.

Emma is survived by her children, Eugene (Lori) Piplica, Valerie (John) Thomas, Allen (Mary) Piplica, Lorrie (Paul) Walter, Janette Linn and Julie Kecman, grandchildren, Rachel (Jorge) Nevarez, Nick C. Piplica (Shervin Bazmi), Ivan (Maggie) Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Megan (Kyle) Fitch, Shannon Piplica (Clancy Wiesner), Curt Bryner, Angela Linn (Donnie Rudberg), Dylan Mehalcik (Stephanie Hako), Anthony Piplica (Megan Ramirez), and Holly Phar, great-grandchildren, Makena and Violet Nevarez, Annabelle and Lila Thomas, Shane, Ryder and Levi Rudberg, Noah Mehalcik, Dominic and Isaac Piplica and Zoey Phar, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Piplica, son-in-law, Scott Kecman, brothers, Stephen (Barbara) Petro, and Andrew (Rita) Petro and sisters, Mary (Whitey) Nahorey and Margaret (Chester) Iwanowski. Friends are welcome Monday, December 27, 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm  at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
