Anita (Schmidt) Cavanaugh, 89, of Elizabeth passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born November 3, 1932 in Büdingen, Germany and is the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Lina (Metz) Schmidt. She is the wife to the late Harry Cavanaugh, who passed away in 2002. She is survived by her sons, William "Bill" Cavanaugh, of Elizabeth, and James "Jim" (Beth) Cavanaugh, of Houston, PA, and grandchildren, Karl, Breanna, Daniel, Brian, and Steven. In addition her parents and husband, Anita is preceded in death by her sons, Karl "Heinz," and Daniel "Dan" Cavanaugh, and her sister, Marie Kiel. Friends are welcome Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 2-4 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
