Eva (Jarvis) Smith, age 91, of White Oak, PA, died Monday morning, March 14, 2022, following a brief stay at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born July 14, 1930, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Margaret (Slaughan) Jarvis and the wife of the late Joseph E. Smith.
Eva dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a member of Mary Mother of God, St. Angela Merci Church. Eva was a fun and unique individual with a kind, friendly and generous spirit. She loved to watch hockey and cheer on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Eva was genuinely beloved by all and will be missed by so many family and friends.
Eva was the proud mother of 13 children; Edward (Peggy) Smith of Indiana, PA, Patricia (the late Charles) Dahmen of Houston, PA, Joann (Robert) Lynskey of White Oak, PA, Nancy (Joe Mishak) Lewis of Lorain, OH, the late Deborah Reid of Cincinnati, OH, Mary Kay (the late Helmut) Weber of North Huntingdon, PA, Mark (Marce) Smith of McKeesport, PA, Judy (Bruce) Randall of Monroeville, PA, James (Deb) Smith of Akron, OH, Scott (Shari) Smith of White Oak, PA, Carolyn (the late Barry) Carreiro of White Oak, PA, Jennifer (Greg Pavlik) Smith of Gibsonia, PA, Lesley (Carl Sokalski) Smith of New Kensington, PA.
She is also survived by her 28 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eva was preceded in death by her brother, William Jarvis of McKeesport.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Angela Merici Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
