Hermon Meriweather, 97 of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, peacefully departed this life September 6, 2016 in Riverside Care Center.

He was born November 5, 1918 in McBean, GA, son of the late Marcus John and Berkie Williams Meriweather.

Hermon was a member of the Usher Board and was a Free and Accepted Mason.

He retired from USS National Tubeworks and had proudly serves his country in the US Army.

Surviving are wife Margaret Meriweather of McKeesport; children, Earl Schofield of McKeesport, Mark Schofield of McKeesport, Donovan Schofield of Severn, MD, Friday Schofield of McKeesport; Ida Schofield; Irene Jones of Atwater, CA; fourteen grandchildren; siblings, Bessie Mae Merriweather of Louderhill, FL, Thelma McCloud of Hollywood, FL, Latrize West of Augusta, GA, Oillian Meriweather of Augusta, GA, Jessie Meriweather of Augusta, GA, Barbara Meriweather of Augusta, GA, Lorenia Crawford of Hephzibah, GA, Marcus Meriweather of Augusta, GA, William Meriweather of Augusta, GA, Nazeren Walker of Hephzibah, GA, Joshua Meriweather of Augusta, GA, Willie Meriweather of Augusta, GA, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. on Monday Bethlehem Baptist Church, 716 Walnut Street, McKeesport, where services will immediately follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Earlene Coleman, officiating

Interment will follow in the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
