George Robert Anderson, 78, of Elizabeth Township, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022 at home. George was born February 19, 1944 in Harrisburg and was the son of the late Norman D. and Helen L. (Wright) Anderson. George was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, who served during The Vietnam war. He was a jack of all trades who held numerous jobs throughout his life, but most notably worked at Auto Zone in McKeesport and as a technician for RC Haywood. He was former member of Park Baptist Church and a current member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where he was a part of the choir and bell choir. George enjoyed singing and playing his numerous guitars, he also wrote and recorded some music as well. He was a people person and had an amazing sense of humor, he liked to joke with everyone. He loved his grandchildren very much. He also loved his dogs, especially his dog, Hannity. George was very patriotic and was proud of his service in the Air Force and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sandra N. (Boyd) Anderson, children, Shayne Anderson, Sharon Anderson (Ian) Smedley and Dionne Anderson, all of England, Keith Anderson of Olympia, WA, Robin Melegari-Gill of Glassport, Tracey Melegari-Gill of Donora, and Brian Melegari of North Belle Vernon, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lynn Anderson, sister, Norma Allen and brothers, Ralph, Wilford, Dwight and Allen Anderson. There is no visitation. Private inurnment with military honors will be held at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
