Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 09, 2022

Marjorie J. "Marge" (Esek) Mykeloff, 79, of Buena Vista, formerly of West Mifflin and Liberty Boro, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born September 14, 1942 in McKeesport and is the daughter of the late Matthew J. and Agnes (Nasta) Esek. She patiently waited nearly 49 years to be reunited with her loving husband, the late George Mykeloff. Marge was a 1960 graduate of Duquesne High School and was quite the marksman on her rifle team. She kept her High School letters and riddled targets to prove it. She was part of the first graduating LPN class of CCAC in 1982 and went on to work for Kane Regional Medical Center in McKeesport, where she was a Union Steward, and eventually retired in 2002. She kept true to her nursing spirit, as she would tell the nurses at Meadowcrest Rehab exactly how everything should be done. Marge was known for her caring nursing, generous nature, and her wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her two devoted sons, Gregory (Toni) Mykeloff, and Michael (Lisa) Mykeloff; grandsons, Jordan Sabatino, and Alex Mykeloff; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Vincent, and Mason; brothers, John Esek of Delmar, NY, and Mathew (Deborah) Esek of South Park, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, everyone at Cardiac Rehab, and many lifelong friends that were always there for her. Marge always had her family crying tears of joy and laughter over the years, but now there are only tears of sadness. She is no longer here to make them laugh, but she left them with many memories to cherish and keep them smiling. Friends are welcome Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
