Donald D. Kmetz, 79, of McKeesport, passed away Monday July 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 18, 1942 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Edward Kmetz of Munhall and the late Eleanor (Novak) Kmetz of Duquesne. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Keefer) Kmetz, who passed away June 18, 2014. Donald worked as a printer for The Daily News until his retirement. Donald was loved by all who knew him. He was a quiet man, but loved to tell his jokes. He was also an avid card player and enjoyed going to casinos.

He is survived by his son, Edward Kmetz of McKeesport, daughters, Hope Kmetz of Wilmerding, Lisa (Jon Sylvander) Anderson of Irwin, Amy (Jay Stevenson) Kmetz of North Versailles; grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Merlin, Jessica (Brandon) Eller, Kasey (Jon) Moon, Kori Kmetz, Kayle Stevenson, Taylor Stevenson, and Jayson Pozzuto; 11 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Anthony "TJ" Kmetz. In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas Anderson, brother, Richard Kmetz; daughter-in-law, Sharon Kmetz; and mother-in-law, Estelle Raible Keefer. Friends are welcome Wednesday July 13, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.
