Mark W. Brown, age 67 of North Huntingdon went to his heavenly healing on January 17, 2016 at his home. He was born September 15, 1948 in Natrona Heights, a son of the late Robert and Anna Stosic Brown. Prior to his retirement, Mark was employed as a repair technician by Allegheny Technology Steel Mill, Brackenridge.
He was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene, life member of the American Legion in Tarentum, previously served as both councilman and a boy scout leader in Tarentum. Mark was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during Vietnam, and also a veteran of the Army Reserves and the Air National Guard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Joyce Kleppinger Brown, 9 children, Todd Coughenour and his wife Carrie, Matthew Brown, Jason Brown and his wife Jessica, Nicholas Brown and his wife Lindsey, Amy Gurki and her husband Ernest, Nevaeh, Jace, Cassie and Marcus Brown, three brothers, Robert, John (wife Chong), and Carl Brown, two sisters, Hilda Miller (husband Timothy), Alice Magoc (husband Mark), 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home on Tuesday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Norwin Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Nate Patnode officiating.
