Leona Catherine Trovato, 84, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born April 11, 1938 in Braddock and was the daughter of the late Kasimer and Sophie (Cresovich) Kropczynski. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Daniel Trovato who passed away June 10, 2017. Leona was retired from the Shop N Save at the Norwin Shopping Center. She loved her family very much and was known for her excellence in cooking and being an avid gardener. She is survived by her sons, Daniel S. Trovato of Liberty Borough and Salvatore (Vonda) Trovato and John (Patricia) Trovato of North Huntingdon, grandchildren, Karyn (Derrick) Pope and Michael Trovato, great-grandchildren, Alayna (Mother-Rose) Palachko and Devyn Pope, sister, Gloria (Richard) Fox of Gibsonia, sister-in-law. Janice Kropczynski of North Versailles and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Michele Trovato, brother, Frank Kropczynski and sisters, Roberta Jablownoski and Charlotte Rupchak.
Friends are welcome Monday, July 18, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-7 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.,1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Service will be held Monday at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Ed Pope, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park at a later date.
