Regina E. (Leonard) Haxel, age 91, of Irwin, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022. She was born October 5, 1930 in Paintertown, the daughter of the late William and Regina Leonard. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Irwin where she served as a deacon, sang in the choir and participated in the Stephen Ministry to help people that experienced a loss. She worked for a number of companies during her career including G.C. Murphy Company, A&M Foodland, Truxal Trucking and RCS Laundromat. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Robert, John “Jack”, Bernard, William and Thomas Leonard. She is survived by her daughter Karen Ann (James) Garbart of Monongahela and brothers Richard Leonard of Irwin and Lawrence Leonard of Irwin.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where everyone is encouraged to social distance and wear masks. Everyone will gather at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Irwin for a funeral service with Rev. Dr. Douglas Rehberg officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Irwin.
