Betty Lou Stone, age 73, of Natrona Heights, formerly of the Fawcett Plan in McKeesport, died August 30, 2022, at home. Born January 30, 1949, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Palmer Jr. and Elizabeth (Campbell) Palmer and wife of the late William N. Stone. She is survived by her loving partner John Ruffing. Betty Lou was a member of the First Christian Church of McKeesport. She was a world traveler, visiting six different continents with her sites set on Antarctica until Covid happened.
In addition to her partner John, Betty Lou is survived by children, Paul (Elena) DeCecco, Chris (Rob) Wakefield, Lou (Michelle) Stone, Talisa (Jeffrey) Harshman, Zachary (Emily) Ruffing, and Nicholas (Nina) Ruffing; grandchildren, Nicolette (Ben) Coen, Chasey (Anthony) Melocchi, Anne Stone, William Stone, Justin Stone, MiaBella Stone, Halee Hernandez, Rylee Ruffing, Cecilia Harshman, Savana Harshman, Eli Harshman, and Eleanor Ruffing; brothers, Louis (Mary) Palmer, Vincent (Gloria) Palmer, and Joseph Palmer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and the extended Ruffing family. She was also preceded in death by a son, Nicolaus Stone. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in McKeesport.
