Ronald "Ron" Hornyak, 79, of Pittsburgh passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022. He was born March 5, 1943 in McKeesport and was the son of the late George and Virginia Jean (Billelter) Hornyak. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Clarke) Hornyak, who passed away February 11, 2015. Ron graduated from McKeesport High School and worked for Union Carbide as an Acetylene Generator Operator. where he retired from in 2005. He was an avid sports fan and athlete. Through the years, Ron coached multiple little league baseball teams, he was a part of multiple bowling and golfing leagues, he loved fishing, playing billiards and cards, and was a huge fan of all Pittsburgh Sports.

Ron is survived by his son, Shawn Ronald (Gail Zilka) Hornyak of Cincinnati, OH; step-son, Jeff (Jodi Horrell) Shivey of North Huntingdon; step-daughter, Jennifer (Jeff Marsh) Shivey of Lincoln, CA; and grandchildren, Madison & Avery Shivey, and Aiden & Caleb Marsh. Friends are welcome Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 2-6 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director.
