Richard M. "Junie" Matthews, 86, of Sutersville, formerly of Gratztown, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at home. He was born June 30, 1936 in Daisytown and was the son of the late Richard G. and Belva (Clark) Matthews. He was the husband of the late Doris I. (Wood) Matthews who passed away October 16, 2015. Junie worked for the former Tygart Steel and Hays Amunition and was a US Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by his sons, James E. (Bonnie) Matthews of Madison and Vincent D. (Marci) Matthews of Sutersville, sisters, Brenda Minda of Elizabeth Township, and Anita (John) Keffer of Georgia, grandchildren, Heather, JJ., Ronnie, Ricky, Richie, John, Vincent and Alex, great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Alona, Mya, Mason, Lilan, Addie, Ridley, Aubree, Rowan, and Avery, son-in-law, Ronald Keefer of Sutersville, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Richard M. Matthews, Jr., Robert M. Matthews, and Arthur J. Matthews, daughter, Marla D. Keefer, sisters, Belva Keener and Ruth Ann Laughlin, and brothers, Howard Matthews and Robert Matthews. Friends are welcome Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
